BBC Workplace is the national broadcaster’s corporate property division, responsible for the policy, strategy and management of its properties. It has over £1bn of estate under its control.
The challenge facing the Workplace team was a big one: fundamentally transform the estate to meet the demands of a 21st century broadcaster while at the same time keeping it on air. The property portfolio is huge – from Broadcasting House in central London, to Media City in Salford – and everything in between.
Camargue’s role was to create an internal communications programme which explained and built support for the changes, bringing a sense of shared endeavour, trust and confidence. The aim was to deliver an effective internal function that allowed the BBC to do what it does best: make programmes.
