The Crown Estate.

The Offshore Wind Evidence and Change Programme. Strategic engagement to help drive the transition to net zero.

As manager of the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, The Crown Estate has a vital role in helping the UK achieve its net zero ambitions.

Alongside the need to significantly expand offshore wind capacity, there is also a need to restore our biologically diverse seas and balance the wide range of interests from seabed users.

With advice and support from Camargue, The Crown Estate established the Offshore Wind Evidence and Change programme, a new strategic research and data-led programme to help deliver these dual priorities and facilitate the sustainable growth of offshore wind.

Alongside the programme partners – the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) – The Crown Estate convened key stakeholders, including UK government, devolved government bodies, regulators, NGOs and industry representatives to work collectively on this common goal.

Camargue helped to establish and facilitate the programme over several years. We provided strategic advice around purpose, messaging and structure of the group; supported the launch; managed regular programme communications including events, newsletters and the annual report; and helped to manage the programme website.

This helped to amplify the programme and The Crown Estate’s role, securing buy-in from a wide range of stakeholders and supporting delivery.

The Camargue team were instrumental to the smooth set up of our Offshore Wind Evidence and Change programme.

"I enjoyed working closely with Camargue and valued their strategic advice as well as hands on approach to delivery of engagement events."
