As Sandwell continues its transformation into an attractive investment and business location, Camargue has completed a successful, 12 month campaign to raise the borough’s profile as a vibrant destination for businesses.

Commissioned by Marketing Birmingham to tell the inward investment story and showcase the work of Think Sandwell, the council’s business growth team, Camargue produced a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement programme leading to significant coverage across the local and regional business media, and putting Sandwell firmly on the map among national stakeholders, including the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills.

Camargue’s integrated campaign raised Think Sandwell’s profile in the media – via Sandwell’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies Index and the West Midlands Virtual Hospital, which won national awards – and included the redesign of Think Sandwell’s website. Camargue also helped Sandwell Council engage with local, national and international businesses, organisations and politicians, and provided senior counsel on a range of initiatives, including events.

Commenting on the success of the campaign, Paul Mountford, Economic Regeneration Manager (Business), Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, said: “Camargue helped us highlight our commercial proposition for businesses to set up, invest and grow in Sandwell and the wider region, and delivered a communications and stakeholder engagement programme that got us noticed by a range of critical stakeholders, not only in the Black Country but across the UK. We were hugely pleased with the outcome.”

Positioned in the centre of the UK, Sandwell stretches from Birmingham city centre to the heart of the Black Country. With the area’s supply chain experience, local connectivity, proximity to key markets, talent pool, increased funding sources, and £350 million of new development, Sandwell is undergoing significant change.
