Business and professional services.
AW Ship Management.
Repositioning an historic shipping business for success in the modern ship management market.
AW Ship Management (formerly Andrew Weir Shipping) is a leading provider of vessel management and technical consultancy services, drawing on over 130 years’ experience in the marine and maritime industries.
Following a management buyout, the business wanted to rebuild its profile and grow market share, positioning itself to secure new business with HM Government and commercially operated fleets.
Camargue worked collaboratively with the senior leadership team to define AW’s offer as a bespoke management provider, leading a guided workshop to identify points of difference and key sales messages for target markets to help the company stand out from its competitors.
Building on this messaging exercise, Camargue undertook a targeted perception audit to gauge views of AW Ship Management among its peers, clients, target prospects and media to understand market trends and stress test the business’ new proposition.
This insight provided AW Ship Management with the direction and content needed to inform its marketing and communications activity including new business collateral and wider customer engagement.
Camargue also drew on its in-house design capabilities to develop a new business presentation to support tender opportunities, refreshing AW Ship Management’s visual identity and tailoring this to aid specific bid support.
AW Ship Management now has a brand and voice for the modern management market, ensuring this historic business can continue to thrive and set the standard for bespoke fleet management.

AW Ship Management
The perception audit undertaken by Camargue provided AW Ship Management with market insights and an opportunity to build recognition of the company. This has resulted in productive meetings with potential new clients in the commercial shipping market.
“The production of new company media and presentation formats by Camargue drawing on findings from the audit and messaging workshop supported two significant tenders, both of which were won by AW Ship Management."
