Communications to support the growth of an energy from waste leader.
Camargue’s relationship with enfinium spans nearly a decade and has seen us support the business as it has grown into one of the UK’s largest energy from waste operator.
It does this by operating four decarbonisation hubs, where it uses waste that would otherwise go to landfill to generate homegrown energy. By managing 2.3 million tonnes of waste a year, it generates enough energy to power 500,000 homes.
We were initially appointed to help enfinium engage communities and stakeholders in North Wales, in support of the consenting process for its emerging Parc Adfer project.
Our strategy helped enfinium deliver on its commitment to transparent, open engagement, enabling it to be present in the community, plugged into local business networks and effectively engaging local political stakeholders too.
The communications campaign we created, in partnership with the client team, played a significant role in the facility being awarded planning permission. Following construction, Parc Adfer started to receive and process residual waste from across North Wales in 2019.
Over the last decade, Camargue has continued to work closely with enfinium and remains a trusted communications, design and digital partner, with an intimate understanding of both its business and the wider energy from waste sector in which it operates.
We work at all stages of their facilities’ lifecycle from consenting through construction and into operations. Camargue is currently providing support to enfinium as it progresses construction at its Kelvin facility in West Bromwich and its Skelton Grange facility in Leeds.
The work we do at both sites is helping enfinium to be viewed as a conscientious, reliable operator, playing a vital role in the communities it serves, being a good neighbour and supporting the UK’s efforts to reach net zero.
