DCO communications for new offshore wind

North Falls Offshore Wind Farm is being developed by a joint venture company owned equally by SSE Renewables and RWE. If consented, it will see up to 72 wind turbines constructed in the southern North Sea with the potential to generate enough electricity to power more than 400,000 homes.

As a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), North Falls requires Development Consent under the Planning Act 2008. Camargue was appointed in 2021 to provide communications and consultation support throughout the pre-application period.

Since then, we have supported the client in delivering three phases of community consultation including, most recently, a statutory consultation which was held during the summer of 2023.

Working as a close extension of the in-house project team, Camargue has provided a range of varied services from communication materials production, consultation planning and event coordination and management, to political profiling and engagement.

We also managed the design and delivery of all printed consultation collateral, an interactive online consultation portal and hosted a series of webinars.

We have built a strong relationship with the client team and will continue to support the project into 2024, as it moves through its final stage of consultation and on to the submission of its Development Consent Order (DCO) application.
