Inaugural trustee board signs off.

Camargue’s first trustee board since becoming employee owned will step down at the end of this year having served a three-year term.

Seven trustees drawn from across the business and externally met for the final scheduled meeting of the year on 21 November and will hand over the reins at the end of December.

Richard Prescott, independent member and chairman of the trustee board said: “It’s been a lot of fun to steer the inaugural trustee board and bring my ideas to the table.  We’ve all chosen to serve the maximum three years because we’ve enjoyed it and felt encouraged by the value of our contribution.  I knew Camargue as a client and have always held a great respect for the agency but getting the opportunity to come inside the tent whilst bringing external perspective as an independent member has been hugely satisfying. As the inaugural board signs off, I think the business is in great shape and well set to go from strength to strength.”

Alongside Richard Prescott, the first trustee board has included Dan Ball, independent member and founder and CEO of The Ladder Group, account director Roxy Blake, associate director Steph Byrne, digital operations manager Hannah Robinson, and directors Mike Conway and Matt Sutton.

The trustee board was constituted in 2023 as one of the first steps in Camargue’s employee ownership journey.

Ben Copithorne, managing director at Camargue, said: “You can’t put a price on perspective and our first trustee board has really helped to bring viewpoint, opinion and ideas into the way we run the business. The bar has been set high. Our heartfelt thanks must go to our fantastic inaugural board just as our best wishes are extended to the incoming board which will set about its work in January.”

The final act of the outgoing trustee board was to approve a recommendation for a distribution payment to all eligible staff. A tangible sign of the value of employee ownership and a fitting way to finish.
