In 2020, the social mobility charity – The Mayor’s Fund for London – launched Firm Foundations, a campaign focused on raising awareness of career opportunities in the built environment to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Camargue is a founding partner of the campaign and in its first year of being involved has run mock interviews and networking events for school kids – helping them shape their performance and guiding them on what to emphasise and how to stand out in the interview process.

What we found was a vast untapped pool of talent that knows too little about the built environment and even less about the sheer range of careers in communications.

As well Camargue’s staff heading back to school to share their knowledge and experience with the students, we have welcomed students through The Mayor’s Fund into our offices for work experience – giving them the chance to see, first-hand what it’s like working in a busy communications agency.

Being one of the founding partners of Firm Foundations has been a genuine win-win for us and our staff are proud to have been able to help the generation coming up behind them see that there are so many fulfilling careers to explore in the built environment.
